The federal courts make bankruptcy filings available in county-level tables, including the F-5A table for the 12 months ending December 31, 2025. County totals can help a research team describe docket volume in a district. They do not establish that a debtor owned a specific parcel or that the parcel belongs in an estate.

A case is assigned to a court and district under the bankruptcy system. A county total is a count of filings attributed to the table's geography. Property ownership is a separate fact. To answer it, review the case docket and schedules, then confirm against the applicable land and tax records.
Write the geography exactly as the source presents it. Do not add county filings from several districts unless the report's definitions make the aggregation valid.
| Preserve | Do not substitute |
|---|---|
| District and county | A national property count |
| 12-month period | A calendar-year death count |
| Chapter | Property type |
| Filing count | Ownership evidence |
The 2025 national bankruptcy totals provide broader context. The Chapter 13 boundary guide shows why chapter counts need their reporting period.
Method and limitation
This article uses the federal courts' bankruptcy statistics page and its December 31, 2025 county-table listing. It does not extract a county number because the correct number depends on the district and county in the matter. That is a deliberate scope limit, not an invitation to estimate.
